ENTRY FEES




Pre-registration is $50/one event or $60/two events per person. Online registration closes on Friday, 8/1 at 8pm CST. You can also register in-person for an additional at our Pre Event Check-in at the North Beach, Lake Calhoun on Friday, 8/1 or on the morning of the Event, from 7am-8am, on Saturday, 8/2. Credit card, cash or check payable to SUP ATX. 100% of ALL participation revenue (less transaction processing fees) will be donated to Avenues for Homeless Youth.

All Paddlecraft are invited to participate!

Paddle for Humanity is open to Stand Up Paddleboards, Prone/Traditional, Surfski 1/2, Dory, Canoes, Kayaks, OC1/2/6 and other Paddlecraft. Note: A limited supply of stand up paddleboards are available for rent. First come, first serve. Please contact Wai Nani Surf & Paddle at 877.WAI.NANI to place your board reservation.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Per Minnesota Boating Laws, stand up paddleboards must be registered as a watercraft, display valid registration decals and carry a USCG approved life jacket.

 

 



EVENT FEATURES


5K Fun Paddle

Compete against friends or simply paddle for the pleasure of it. This is a low-pressure recreational paddle close to shore and a great chance to experience the thrill of racing in a fun and entertaining environment. Every 5K participant receives a finisher's medal. This is a timed event with prizes awarded to Top Three Male/Female/Legends 50+/Junior (17 and Under) finishers in all paddle craft classes combined.


10K Paddle

This event is for the more seasoned paddler wishing to test their skill, endurance and strategy. Bring on the burn and share your competitive drive! Every 10K participant receives a finisher's medal. This is a timed event with Prizes Awarded to Top Three Male/Female/Legends 50+/Junior (17 and Under) finishers in the following paddle craft categories: SUP 12'6", SUP 14' and OPEN.

 

Looking to step up your race performance and stamina? Contact Wai Nani Surf & Paddle at 877.WAI.NANI to join our FREE Waterman's Paddle for Humanity Race Training Series (a.k.a. PowerPaddle! Advanced Group Training)! PowerPaddle! brought to you by the Wai Nani Surf & Paddle Tribe. All welcomed!


Rule 7 event

We'll provide the mystery challenge, you bring the skill! You never know what off the wall challenges will come your way. We toss in plenty of equalizers and speed bumps that it becomes anyone's winning day! One male and one female will come out victorious!

Saturday, August 2nd, 2014 - Race Day

11:30 AM: Rule 7 Event Start

AWARDS: Following racing with a special Hula Performance by dancers from Halau Hula O Napunaheleonapua and a Prize Raffle in between!


AFTER PARTY CELEBRATION: Immediately following the Awards Presentation, join us for an Event Post Party at Trygs(3118 West Lake Street, Minneapolis) with Brunch/$5 Bloody Mary Bar from 11am-3pm and 2-for-1 single shot rail drinks from 11am-7pm! Conveniently located in the northwest corner of Lake Calhoun with lots of on-site parking available!

 

Come for the camaraderie, share your event stories and celebrate a great day on the water!


Special Note: Bring the family and make it a day! Enjoy the nearby 2014 Uptown Art Fair with professional works of art ranging from limited editions to one-of-a-kind treasures. Over 350 talented fine artists from around the world! Saturday Hours (8/2): 10am-8pm. Lake Street and Hennepin Avenue in Minneapolis.

 

 

WPA info

 

5K and 10k are Sanctioned by WPA (World Paddle Association) The following age divisions will receive points for rankings to qualify for both Regional and World Championships in both the 5K Paddle and the 10k Paddle for registered WPA Athletes Recognized.

 

WPA divisions for these races include:
a) 17 under on all board classes and gender
b) 18-49 on all board classes and gender
c) 50+ on all board classes and gender

POINTS OF INTEREST

- There are plenty of restaurants, stores and attractions within driving distance of event
- Paid parking in the North Beach lot is available on a first come first serve basis. Note: Free parking is available along nearby residential streets
- NO vehicles on grass or beach (pack a cart and bring some extra bodies)
- Easy load in – load out area for before and after the race
- NO alcohol on site. Violators are subject to fines and arrest
